The steel building on the Palouse Brownsfield site is out for bids.
The Palouse city council voted unanimously Jan. 10 to declare the 28-by-40 foot building on the Brownsfield property as surplus. This made it eligible for proposals from interested parties to salvage it.
Thus, the city will get a chance to make money while having the 1950s building taken down at no cost to them.
The building is now listed for sealed proposals/bids to remove it and its contents.
“I don’t think we’ll get a penny out of it myself,” said Palouse mayor Michael Echanove. “But don’t get me wrong, we’d love to.”
