Rosalia repeats as top taxed town

Rosalia repeats the dubious title of Whitman County’s most-taxed town this year.

Assessor Joe Reynolds’ 2012 levy rates were officially approved by Whitman County commissioners Monday. Rosalians will pay $19.28 in taxes for each $1,000 of valuation on property they own.

Rosalia’s rate increased from $18.53 last year.

Rosalia’s citizens voted in $11.61 of the total tax bill by approving special levies.
