Palouse appoints Merrill to board

The Palouse school board has a new member. Joe Merrill was appointed Jan. 26 to fill the seat of Will Thurman, who resigned in November.

Merrill grew up in Garfield and graduated from Gar-Pal High School in 1988.

He and wife Angela have a son in second grade at Palouse.

This is Merrill’s first board position.

“I just wanted to give back to the school for one thing, and make sure all the kids in the school district get the best opportunities they can,” he said.
