A wild week of windy weather whipped Whitman County last week. Storms began Wednesday, with a severe windstorm sweeping through, bringing gusts of more than 60 mph that damaged homes across the Palouse, including the hot tub room of Pete and Margaret Leonard of Rosalia, pictured above center. Saturday’s wind drifted snow across highways, as pictured above left. Low visibility prompted the closure of Highway 195 from Colfax south to the Idaho state line and from Plaza north to Spangle.
