Economics of farming with direct seed systems will be the topic of the Colfax Palouse Direct Seeders’ last monthly breakfast meeting of the season next Thursday, March 8.
Kate Painter, a Colfax farmer and University of Idaho economist, will present her recent research on the economics of direct seeding. Painter will also share a program which will allow farmers to crunch the numbers themselves.
LaCrosse farmer Steve Camp will also speak to the group, sharing his direct seed experiences, especially in regards to how he uses it to plant oilseed crops like camelina in his crop rotation.
The two-hour breakfast meeting will be held in the Colfax United Methodist Church, 109 S. Mill, at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be catered by the Top Notch Cafe.
