With almost 2,000 pounds of food to offer, the new Palouse Food Bank marked its first distribution day last Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the new community center.
The opening day culminated the efforts of many volunteers, including Graham Browse, a senior at Pullman High School who began the Food Bank endeavor as a senior project last summer.
“It went more smoothly than I thought it would for the first time,” said Amy Browse, Graham’s mother.
The food bank distribution was supplied by Second Harvest of Spokane, and was combined with Palouse’s monthly distribution of USDA commodities.
