Plan announced for hiring Colfax principal

Colfax Supt. Michael Morgan reported on plans for the two-month process to hire a new principal for Colfax High School at Monday night’s school board session.

Resignation of Principal Gary Weitz, who has served the district since 2006, was accepted by the board at its previous meeting. He will depart at the end of the school year.

Morgan and staff plan to have his replacement by July 1.

The superintendent told the board that he is meeting with teachers and staff to gather input and aims to have a pool of candidates set by April 4. Interviews will be conducted April 12-18 and a final choice app...
