Chihuahua leads town on high speed chase

Colfax Officer Perry Tate was called early Friday morning to investigate a report of a suspect traveling southbound at high-speed on Main Street. The suspect was reported to be a black Chihuahua.

Janel Goebel, county parks staffer, reported she saw a tiny suspect running back and forth across Main Street as she arrived for work at the Public Service Building around 8:30.

She tried to catch him, but he quickly bolted southbound down the middle of Main and then back onto the sidewalk. Several citizens tried to corral the speeder, but he allegedly darted back onto the street to evade capture.
