A group of volunteers will install 10 solar panels on the roof of the new Palouse Community Center Saturday.
So Happy It’s Tuesday, a local group of renewable energy enthusiasts, will install the panels as a memorial to Mike Carlton, a former Pullman Police Officer and group member who died last year.
So Happy It’s Tuesday raised $12,629 for the project.
The 2,400 watt panels are expected to generate about 3,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, which will save the center $210 a year.
In addition, the state will pay 15 cents a kilowatt hour to the community center for the next eight year...
