Eight Bullpups place in big Bi-State meet

Eight members of the Colfax Bullpups wrestling team placed at Saturday’s Bi State Junior High tournament which was hosted by Colfax on three mats in the CHS gym. Eight teams representing the Bi State League are Colfax, Potlatch, Pomeroy, Pullman, Moscow, Sacajawea and Jenifer of Lewiston and Clarkston Middle School.

Bullpups winning championships were Gabriel Higginson, Mitch Barney and Brian DeYoung. Consolation championships went to Tyson Rogers, Galen McWhirter, Reggie Jones, Adam Tate and Nick McAdams.

“We did the best we have ever done in this tournament which is really a testament to the dedication and hard work that these young fellows had,” Coach Jack McBride said.

He also credited the host of volunteers and supporters of the wrestlers who helped make the event a success.
