Ten girls will compete for Colfax DYW title

Ten Colfax junior class girls will compete in this year’s Distinguished Young Women contest Saturday, March 24, in the Colfax High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. This marks the 55th edition of the competition which began as Colfax Junior Miss. Saturday’s format will follow a “Clue” theme with entrants listed as “suspects” for the competition.

Entrants and their talent performance are listed by order of competition as follows:

Denver Campbell will perform a monologue, “Touch of the Master’s Hand.” She is the daughter of Jeff and Michele Campbell.

Taylor Lange will do a dance routine to a medley of pop tunes. She is the daughter of David and Melanie Lange.

Clara Higginson will dance to “Love on Top” by Beyonce. She is the daughter of Mike and Valerie Higginson.

Deanna Aeschliman will play “Prelude in C Sharp Minor” on the piano. She is the daughter of Cory and Rosemarie Aeschliman.

Emma Gingerich will dance to Blake Shelton’s “Footloose.” She is the daughter of Lisa Gingerich and Brent and Brenda Gingerich.

Lindsay Webber with sing “Art is Calling for Me” by Herbert and Smith. She is the daughter of Jon and Angie Webber.

Paige Mackleit will do a tap dance to Yankee Doodle. She is the daughter of Rick and Wendy Mackleit.

Mary Spaulding will sing “You’re Never Fully Dressed without a Smile” from Annie. She is the daughter of Melissa Allbee and step-daughter of Alan Allbee.

Rachel Napier will do a lyrical dance of “Fix a Heart” by Demi Levato. She is the daughter of Anthony and Alicia Napier.

Cacey Hall will sing “When Does My Life Begin” from the Disney movie Tangled. She is the daughter of Dean and Carla Hall.
