Colfax girls booked another strong day in track competition among the biggies when they placed seventh among 28 teams in the big Ray Cross Invitational tournament at Ephrata. The Bulldogs collected 31 points to finish behind the 118.5 stacked up by Cheney for the win.
Sophomore Bailey Mackleit clocked a 17.34 in the 100 hurdles for the best Colfax mark of the day. Jamie Bruno of Pateros clocked a 17.21 for the win.
The Bulldogs sprint relay team placed third in the 4 X 100 with a 52.95 and third again in the 4 X 200 at 1:54.81. Amelie Bruya, Elizabeth Hatley, Leah Heiner and Mackleit are on the team.
Hatley placed sixth in the 100 sprint and seventh in the 200 with 13.34 and a 28.11 respectively.
Cheney’s Chae Brown took the 100 at 13.01 and Cheney’s Janessa Day took the 200 at 26.78.
Nicole Sheer pegged a 32-5.75 for third in the shot and a 76-4 for 14th in the discus.
Skylar Simonson cleared 10-0 to place eighth in the pole vault and land a point for the boys.
Host Ephrata took the boys side of the invitational with a 147.
