High water closes Bill Chipman trail

Whitman County Parks Department Monday closed the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail due to flooding of Paradise Creek. The trail was opened at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Janel Goebel, program representative for the county parks department, said crews will continue to monitor the trail through this weekend’s storms.

The department will post updated information about the status of the trail, whether it is closed or still available for use, on its Facebook page.

Water over the Trail made the trail unsafe in some areas.
