Grade-school kids play the role of bacteria with shredded newspapers representing soil as part of Colfax High School’s annual FFA Ag Day Friday. The kids upturned “soil” in search of colored balls of “oxygen” and felt strips of “nitrogen.” Colfax High FFA students organized the day of activities for first through sixth-graders. This year’s theme was “The Nitrogen Cycle.” Brian Long is the Colfax High FFA advisor.
