On Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29, two one-day field events for kids will be held on two ranches near Benge. The event is put on by Youth Outdoor Adventures (YOA), an NRA-endorsed non-profit organization.
On April 28 and 29, at the Bar U and Warm Springs ranches, kids from 9-17 will have the opportunity to participate in outdoor and shooting sports. Equipment, instruction and lunch is provided. One adult per two participants is requested. Cost is $80 per person.
The day will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with areas of instruction including sporting clays, target shooting (with small-caliber firearms), fly-fishing, pheasant/chukar hunting with dogs and handlers. If weather is extremely bad, alternate activities include geo-caching and archery.
