Penny drive aims at $50

The seventh annual penny drive to fund programs at the library in Oakesdale will be from March 26 to April 14. Oakesdale students from kindergarten through fifth grade will participate with a goal of $50 or more. If the goal is reached Librarian Michele Wright will provide cupcakes and punch for all.

Collection jars will be at Crossett’s Food Market and the library.

Children are making butterflies and caterpillars and learning about springtime and all the things that will be growing soon. Wednesday’s at 12:30 is Storytime at the Oakesdale Library.

The Oakesdale Book Club continues to meet the last Tuesday of the month. This month’s selection is “Winter Garden” by Kristin Hannah. Get your copy from the library now and join the group April 27 at 6 p.m. for a potluck dinner, a book discussion and selecting the next great book.

The library was able to donate three large boxes of food to The Tree of Sharing for their annual food boxes. Tree of Sharing chairman Angy Dewan said, “It is always great to get this donation from the library.”
