Broncos drop Bulldogs twice

Lind/Ritzville/Sprague dropped Colfax twice Saturday in a twin bill which was moved to Ritzville Saturday because of the swamped turf at McDonald field.

Bronco pitcher Jake Dewald threw a five-hitter at Colfax in the opener while the Broncos stacked up 13 hits. Patrick Jacobs had the start for Colfax. The Bulldogs had just five hits in the first game with Jacobs tagging a single.

Colfax broke to a 2-1 lead after the first inning of the second game, but the Broncos came roaring back with five runs in the second inning to take control. Tyler Frederick took the win.

Jaime Bledsoe had the start for Colfax and took the loss.

Bledsoe had two doubles to lead the eight-hit Colfax offense. Brady Ellis also tagged a double.

Colfax defense was booked for four errors.

Another Colfax league game, with Reardan, was flooded out Tuesday at McDonald. The Bulldogs hoped to get the double in Wednesday but the rains continued.
