Trio bags medals in Colfax round

Colfax Bulldogs had six of the top seven scorers Tuesday in the NE meet on the water-logged Colfax links with Tyler Stevenson, Kyle Johnson and Hunter Weitze each pegging 40s on the home course.

Par for the Tuesday round was set at 34 after the number-one hole was pegged to a par 3 to avoid a small scale lake on the opening fairway.

Defending state champ Kira Powell of Odessa/Harrington, one of six girls playing Tuesday, had the overall lowest score at 37.

Other cards for the Bulldog boys were Cody Gronning 43, Kasey Johnson 47, Ryan Christopherson 47, and Jay Hart 53.

The three medalist scores netted Colfax a big team win at 214. Other team totals for the boys were Odessa/ Harrington 240, Inchelium 292 and Northwest Christian 292.
