Family fair Saturday at LMS, Pullman

Now in its 16th year, Family Fair, sponsored by the Palouse Resource Network, YMCA and more than 30 other non-profit agencies and groups, will be at Lincoln Middle School Saturday, April 21, from 10 to 2 p.m.

Many agencies will host interactive booths and activities for children of all ages including a fun run at 11 a.m. on the LMS track, inflatable obstacle course, climbing wall and other attractions.

Shade garden topic

Palouse Library will host “Shade Gardens” with Master Gardener Mary Estes, April 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. She will talk about developing a shade garden. For more information, contact librarian Bev Pearce.

Dr. Seuss

science

Science will again be the theme of Kids Club at the Tekoa Library. Elementary today, Thursday, April 19, from 4-5 p.m. Kids will make and read Dr. Seuss’ Oobleck, a solid and a liquid.

Hog Heaven Band to play at Dahmen

Hog Heaven Big Band will play at the Dahmen Barn April 28 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. They play music for dancing or listening, and by using The Great American Song Book have expanded beyond swing tunes. Admission will be $8 for a couple; $5 for a single, with children under 12 free.

Hog Heaven Big Band has been playing at the Dahmen Barn since its grand opening in 2006.

Gar/Pal pie sale

Garfield/Palouse junior class plans to sell Cyrus O’Leary’s pies to raise money for their senior class trip next year. Available are $8 fruit pies, including apple, dutch apple, cherry, marionberry, straw-rhub and pumpkin. Cheesecakes for $11 include pecan, original, turtle, lemon, strawberry and triple chocolate.

All orders are due April 25. Pies will be delivered to all residents within the city of limits of Garfield and Palouse.

Feldner son born

Mason Kenneth Feldner was born April 12, 2012, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center at nine pounds, 14 ounces, to Janet Sandefur and Cliff Feldner. Maternal grandparent is Wanda Cooke of Elkford, BC. Paternal grandparents are Curtis and Janet Feldner of Colfax. This is the couple’s first child.
