'Plant-A-Row' can boost seniors' diets

Local gardeners are asked to consider planting an extra row for food banks and senior meal sites. The Council on Aging and Human Services invites gardeners to drop off produce at their office at 210 S. Main Street between 8:30 and 4:30, Monday through Friday for distribution to Whitman County food banks and senior meal sites.

Scott Hallet, Council on Aging nutrition director, and Suzy McNeilly, volunteer coordinator, point out senior citizens often do not get enough fresh fruits and vegetables in their diets.
