Too Slim books debut at Empire

Too Slim and the Taildraggers, known for its large repertoire of blues and rock and roll, will perform in concert in the Empire Theater Saturday, April 28, at 7 p.m. The group has strong vocals and excellent musicianship.

This will be their first time in Tekoa and it comes on the heels of tour dates in Utah, Colorado and the Midwest. The band has been seasoned over the years by appearances in everything from low dives to concert halls and outdoor festivals.

They have performed throughout the United States, as well as in Norway, Sweden Belgium, Italy, Britain, Spain and other countries.

Bandleader Tim Langford, said the “love playing in small towns” and “are thrilled to be coming” to Tekoa.

The band has produced sixteen recordings, which includes a large body of original work, most of it written by Langford, whose skills on the guitar have gained him national recognition.

Langford will be joined on stage by guitarist and vocalist Polly O’Keary and Tommy Cook on drums.

Their latest CD, “Shiver,” has been nominated for the Blues Music Association’s rock blues album of the year.

Admission will be $15; the ticket booth will be open by 6:30.
