DeSales guests dent Colfax softball run

DeSales, a softball power team from the SE, came to Colfax Tuesday and stopped a Colfax win string with two wins. The Irish took the first game 9-2 with sophomore lefty Ashen Lyons holding Colfax to just three hits.

Lauren Moore doubled and singled in the opener and Samantha Pearson had the other hit.

Amy Hickman allowed nine hits, fanned six and walked six in taking the loss in the opener.

The second round game ended with a 16-14 win by the Irish who trailed 7-13 going into the sixth inning but managed to crank up the offense.
