A community clean-up day at Thornton Cemetery is scheduled Saturday, May 19. The clean-up is open to the public, and all friends of Thornton Cemetery are particularly invited to attend. Clean up will begin at 9 a.m. and will include raking, trimming and picking up debris. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, gloves and protective eye wear.
Thornton Cemetery Preservation Association, a nonprofit corporation registered in Washington State, is sponsoring this event. Their application for recognition of Federal tax-exempt status is pending, according to Diane Eastep, director and secretary.
