All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will close next Wednesday, May 16, for the annual staff training day.

Amphibians and reptiles from the University of Idaho will visit the Colfax Library Thursday, May 17, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. With a note from a parent, kids may ride bus #5 to enjoy stories and crafts about reptiles and amphibians.

Mahlon Kriebel from Garfield will present “The Steptoe Disaster” next Thursday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Colfax Library. It will be the 154th anniver-sary of the event.

Summer With the Master Artists is a free art program being offered by the Colfax Library and Colfax Arts Council for kids ages 7-12. The program will be in the Hamilton Building next to the library.

Dates for the program are June 20 and 27; July 11 and 18 from 3-4:30 p.m. with the final program will be an open house art showing at 4-5 p.m.
