Colfax entrants claim medals in Special Olympics

Three Colfax residents advanced to this year’s Summer Olympics after claiming medals in the regional competition on the EWU track at Cheney last Saturday, May 5.

Billy Swank brought home three silver medals, claiming runner-up in the 100-meter walk, the 200-meter walk and the standing long jump.

Joel Lemon claimed gold in the shot put, and followed that up with a silver medal for his role in the 4 x 100 relay squad. Lemon also grabbed a bronze medal in the 200-meter walk and placed eighth in the 100-meter dash.
