Asotin’s girls bounced back last Wednesday, May 2, to take the last SE track round before the district qualifier. The Panthers rolled up 158 points at Clarkston High for a big win over SJE-LW, their league foe.
On the boys side, Waitsburg/Prescott again demonstrated their track prowess by rolling out 185 points, more than double the tally booked by number-two DeSales.
SJE-LW had event wins with Heather Siegel in the 3200, Annie Bailey with a 106-7 in the javelin, and Gretchen Van Lith with a 16-4 in the long jump. The TOR 4 X 400 relay team also took a win.
GP’s Anthony Floyd took the javelin with a 142-5, and Jeff Kent, who battled WP’s James Thompkins in the sprints, won the pole vault at 10-0. SJE-LW’s Darcy Stamper cleared 6-2 for a win in the high jump.
Kaleb Simon picked up another win in the triple at 41-4 and placed second in the long jump.
The SE schools will return to Clarkston May 17 for the first day of the two-day district qualification rounds.
