Scaroni places 2nd at Bloomsday

Tekoa’s Susannah Scaroni placed second in the women’s wheelchair division of Bloomsday Sunday at Spokane with a time of 36:06 and collected a $1,000 prize.

Amanda McGrory, Scaroni’s teammate at the University of Illinois, won the event for the sixth straight year at 34:15.

Scaroni made the trip back to her home grounds after placing fifth in the Boston Marathon with a 1:50.44.
