Michal Schuster of St. John/Endicott takes the top score into next Tuesday’s SE District girls B golf final after carding an 87 on the par-72 Palouse Ridge course at Pullman in Monday’s subdistrict match.
Schuster’s score led the field, besting Emily Baumgart of DeSales by three strokes.
On the boys side, Dakota White of SJE led the local showing with an 87 for a share of fifth place. DeSales golfers Ryan Baumgart and Jimmy Konen each shot 73 to pace the subdistrict scores.
Devan Bafus shot 120 for eighth place for the Eagle girls squad, followed by Sierra McCanna’s 125 ninth place. Ellie Bailey carded 151 for 13th, followed directly by the 153 14th place showing of Marisa McCue.
Cole McCanna followed White on the boys side with an 89 for 12th place. Other Eagle scores were John Quinton 108 and Gabe Davis 115. Kim Ren and R.J. Baltierra played in the tourney, but did not card final scores.
Cory Brown led the Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia contingent with a 106. Joe Gaines of TOR added a 108 and Luke Engel shot 156. Alex Sullivan carded a 71 over the front nine and did not finish.
Lisa Harper of TOR shot 155 on the girls side for 15th place.
District finals will be next Tuesday on the Wine Valley golf course outside Walla Walla. Top 15 boys and top 10 girls advance to the state B golf championships May 22-23 at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club in Lakewood.
