Crane arrives for jail chiller

A crane arrived Wednesday, as part of the installation project for a new chiller on the top of the county jail. Doug Sewell, project manager of McKinistry of Spokane, applied May 10 for a city building permit to replace the chiller unit. Estimated value of the project was $139,000.

The chiller will be placed at approximately the same location on top of the jail. One upgrade for the project will be installation of an acoustical enclosure around the unit to cut down on noise, a problem with the present unit which has generated complaints from the neighbors.
