Colfax volleyball grad Jill Solbrack has been named coach of the Pullman High school volleyball team. Solbrack was a member of the 2005 class at Colfax High school and played three years of varsity ball with the CHS net team under Coach Sue Doering.
After graduating at Colfax, Solbrack attended Whitworth University in Spokane where she played on the Pirates’ volleyball team and was captain during her senior season.
After graduating from Whitworth in 2009, Solbrack began her teaching career at Franklin Elementary in Pullman. She also commuted to Colfax where she coached C squad net teams for the Bulldogs under Coach Sue Doering
Coach Solbrack takes over the Pullman program from another Colfax High graduate, David Weitz. He concluded a three-year stint as volleyball coach for the Greyhounds last year.
Weitz graduated from Colfax High with the class of 1985 and started to play volleyball during his college days at Eastern Washington University. He later coached club ball in Pullman where his three daughters played for the hounds.
His youngest daughter, Karra, graduated last year, but Weitz continued to head the hounds until the last of his former club players finished out their high school careers.
Weitz is married to the former Kerri Olson, who also played volleyball at Colfax.
