Boating safety classes

Two class sessions on boating safety have been scheduled at the end of the month. Boaters between 12 to 40 years of age are now required to have the certified card when operating a boat with an engine of 15 horsepower or more. The required instruction extends over two nights with classes set June 20-21 and June 26 and June 28 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Public Service Building at Colfax. Call the Sheriff’s office to register. The state card requirement is being phased in for age groups through 2014.
