Geraldine Steiger, daughter of Duane and Tarri Steiger, graduated from the University of Washington last weekend. Duane, Tarri, their son Stetson, Geraldine’s fiancé Spencer Scholz and KoDee Pruett attended.
Geraldine’s Political Science department graduation was Friday and the overall University graduation was Saturday. They also attended the Mariner’s no-hitter against the L.A. Dodgers and visited Pike Place Market and the Museum of Flight. Geraldine plans to start law school at Gonzaga in August.
David and Phyllis Stueckle attended the LaCrosse High School graduation Saturday of their great-nephew, Jake Aune, son of Jeff and Tricia Aune.
A number of locals and their family members attended Freeman High School’s graduation Saturday afternoon.
Art and Colene Sager watched their grandson, Luke Manning, son of Don and Gaylene Manning, graduate with honors.
Keith and Lelia Zaring watched their grandson Henry Zaring graduate.
Also there for Henry were Zach and Austin Zaring, Kathy Clark, Lynn Knott, Cindy Zaring, his father’s family, Paul, Tracy and Angela Zaring of Richland, Carol Kyllo and Reva Minnick, both of Spokane.
Henry will attend Spokane Falls Community College this fall.
LaCrosse natives Gene and Lola Aune, Leonard and Stacy Aune and Brad and Sharon Ruland were there for the graduation of Joseph Schwieger, Jr.

Dick and Helen Appel spent Memorial Day weekend with their son in Hamilton, Mass. Bruce, his wife Elaine and sons Logan, Charley and Spencer entertained them including a Memorial Day parade and seafood meals. Barb Wollstein, Lacey, spent five days visiting her parents, Dick and Helen Appel, and helping her mother in the yard.
Linda Henniger, Gloria and Norm Erickson and Goldie Foss attended memorial services in Newport last week for their cousin, Morris Wigen. After the services, the family gathered at his home at Priest River.
Cross Country musical group will perform at the LaCrosse Farmers Fest Saturday, June 16.
Amanda, Rafe and Tate Carlson of Spokane spent last weekend at the home of their parents/grandparents, Kim and Cindy Pitts.
John Murray of Bellingham paid a short visit to Karen Broeckel Sunday afternoon and spent the night at the home of his brother-in-law, Oscar Broeckel.
