Colfax problem solvers compete

The Colfax High School Future Problem Solving team returned June 10 from international competition at Indiana University in Bloomington. The team was made up of Amelie Bruya, Joshua Huber, Hannah Knaack and Lindsay Webber. All will be seniors at CHS next year. They were accompanied by Coach Lori Brown.

The team qualified for the trip from state competition in early April. The same team qualified for the international event in 2010. Also, Bruya and Webber qualified for FPSI in 2007 when they were in junior high.

The team was among 63 competing in the senior division. Study topic for the senior division was pharmaceuticals.

More than 400 students, coaches and affiliates from all 50 states as well as teams from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and England participated. They stayed on campus.

While there, they toured IU’s sprawling campus which boasts the largest student union building in the world.
