Relay for Life is this weekend

Cancer fundraiser will

mark 17th year with events at high school track

The 17th-year edition of Whitman County Relay for Life will get underway Friday night at the Colfax High School track with 16 teams in the competition this year.

Total enrollment on the 16 teams now stands at 319 people who will walk the relay loop as part of the fund drive. Proceeds from the relay go to the American Cancer Society in their battle against the disease.

Teams in the event have already undertaken a variety of events to generate funds.

Goal for the event this year is $40,000.
