Artwalk demos at Dahmen
On Sunday, July 15, Artisans at the Dahmen Barn will be a destination included in Pullman’s ArtWalk, Sunday Drive for Art. Numerous resident artists will give demonstrations in the Hay Loft Hall beginning at the top of each hour. See a variety of fiber arts demonstrations, weaving with beads and watercolor. In addition, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can sample some of the locally produced specialty food products that are sold at the barn.
Tekoa social
The Tekoa Community Church ice cream social will be July 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tekoa High School. Everyone is welcome.
Canyon River
at Dahmen
Canyon River Band from Spokane will play an outdoor concert July 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. They will play classic rock, folk rock and current country. The Canyon River Band is made up of area school district superintendents who have also been musicians for many years. The performance will move indoors if the weather dictates. Admission will be $8 at the door.
Fifth floriade
opens at Palouse
The fifth annual floriade in which artists and designers celebrate the glory of summer at Bank Left in Palouse will begin this week. The artists reception and official opening will be Saturday, July 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday dinner will be served July 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 and Thursday and Friday, July 19 and 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. in conjunction with the Pullman ArtWalk.
Exhibits to transform the second floor of Bank Left into a celebration of art and flowers will be created by Dick Domey and Diane Gillespie, Rose Poulin and Judy Dinwiddie, Val Boydo and Laurel McDonald, Ariel Zakarison, Ryan Benner, Carrie Vielle, Nelson Duran and others.
Bubble man
at Neill
Bubble illusionist Jarom Watts of Spokane will perform in the Neill library’s Heritage addition Friday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Watts does astounding things with soap bubbles.

IDAHO REPERTORY THEATRE
Annie Baker’s renowned Circle Mirror Transformation, Aug. 16-18 and 23-25, 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Aug. 19 and 26. The play follows a small group of students enrolled in an adult dramatic acting class for six weeks. The play was on the top 10 lists for the New York Times and the New Yorker.

Stage adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, July 19-22 and 26-29. Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie stumble upon the mysterious land of Narnia and find themselves in the midst of a war between the evil White Witch and the forces led by the lion Aslan. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Matinees, July 22 and 29, 2:30 p.m.
REGIONAL THEATRE OF PALOUSE
Oliver! The musical version of Charles Dicken’s beloved novel about orphan Oliver Twist and the colorful characters he meets in the streets of 19th century London. Aug. 23-25 and Sept. 5-9 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees Aug. 25 and Sept. 8 at 1:30 p.m.

Colfax High grad Kirk Schmick will share his musical talent at the Colfax Library next Thursday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to this free program.
Kids are encouraged to bring their reading logs to this Summer Reading finale to receive a new book made possible by the Friends of Whitman County Library. Prizes and games are planned.

Colton library finale
Final Summer Reading program for the Colton Library will be Monday, July 16, in the park across from the library. Every child who has completed the reading requirement throughout the six -week program will receive a prize bag.
Teen and Adult Summer Reading Programs are in full swing, and these programs will continue through August.
