Saturday's big Jerry Cluckey Knights of Columbus meet generated a lot of competition and memories for swimmers and former swimmers in the novice league’s season closer.

Jackson Ross heads for a strong finish in the butterfly event for 14-under boys.

Katie Renstrom of Garfield/Palouse stakes a claim on the finish wall in the senior girls freestyle. Jade Porubek of SJE, behind Porubek, finished in second place, and Allison MacDonald, top, finished in fourth.

The daughters of the late Jerry Cluckey, founder of the meet, were on the fence rooting for Simon Brannan of Pullman. Starting second from the left are Lynn Curtis, Tenny Brannan, Sharon Hall and Kim Williams. Tenny Brannan is Simon's grandmother. At the left is Mallory Carr Shindler, former Colfax team member and Simon's aunt. Simon is the son of Gabe and Megan Brannan of Pullman.
