Ron and Barb Wachter, long-time Pullman residents who have left an impact on the town and county, and Phyllis Campbell, a 1973 WSU grad who is now chair of the Pacific Northwest for JP Morgan Chase & Co., will be honored with installation of plaques in the Pullman Walk of Fame Saturday morning as part of the lentil festival.
Ron Wachter served on the Pullman council for 25 years and has a long line of credits in Pullman civic contributions while developing NuChem. He has also been active in the Palouse Emprie Fair association and Port of Whitman developments.
Barb Wachter taught in Pullman schools for 30 years and helped with the Palouse Empire Fair Queen contests and Distinguished Young Women. She started the Lentil Festival’s Little King and Queen competition. She has also been involved in hospitality with development of the Hilltop Inn and restaurant.
Campbell served on the WSU board of regents for 12 years until 2003. She has had a 30-year career in banking with eight years as president and CEO of U.S. Bank of Washington. She also served six years as president and CEO of the Seattle Foundation and served on the board of Seattle University.
