From a teacher looking for a map rail still hanging in his old room at Jennings Elementary, to seventh-graders locating their new classrooms at the high school, a change is in the air for students and teachers in Colfax.
The new school year marks the combination of the junior high and high school into one building.
The change was made over the summer. An experiment last year proved moving teachers between the two buildings over the course of the school day was problematic.
The need to move teachers came as a result of staff reductions in the 2010-11 school year.
