Palouse council approves purchase of ambulance

A former Colfax ambulance will find new use in Palouse after the Palouse city council approved the purchase Aug. 28. Palouse Assistant Fire Chief Marv Pillars told the council the 2007 Ford 450 diesel powered ambulance was offered to Palouse EMS for $11,000, the trade-in value. It will replace Palouse’s 1987 ambulance, which was in service for 10 years.

“We stole that at $3,000,” Pillars recalled.

Palouse EMS plans to turn it into a rescue rig.
