Wind farm to hit switch; Palouse Prairie seek funds

With the click of a mouse, electricity will begin coming off Naff Ridge this week, as the first string of turbines begin spinning at the Palouse Wind farm.

Ben Fairbanks, western development manager for Palouse Wind’s parent company First Wind, said the substation and transmission line have been energized to begin receiving power off an 11-turbine circuit that is expected to begin producing power this week.

“Those towers are ready to go,” said Fairbanks.
