NWC, Eagles win xc at Colfax

Two NWC veteran runners took wins at the Colfax cross-country race Tuesday on the Colfax trail. Anna Henry, who tracked Morgan Willson in league races last year, won the girls race at 21:03, and Steven Olds took another Crusader win at 17:43 over the course which follows the former Great Northern railroad route along the Palouse River.

Jackson Elfers of the host Bulldogs placed third for the Bulldogs and Brock Morgan placed 18th at 20:08.

St. John/Endicott girls won the team title with Heather Siegel placing second behind Henry at 21:35.

The SJE team score was 27 with Jordan Porubek 4th at 22:16, Shania Bailey 5th at 22:41, Sammie Bailey 7th at 22.50, Jade Porubek 10th at 23:53, Annie Bailey 13th at 25:18 and Allison Rich 27th at 33:38.

Other team scores for the girls were NWC 59, St. George’s 63 and Reardan 71.

Eagle finishers in the boys race were Luke Bailey 21st at 20:35, Caleb Kolb 23rd at 21:02, Justin Wargo 30th at 22:35 and Jacob Blakely 38th at 27.06.

Teams scores were NWC 31, Reardan 54, Davenport 63 and St. George’s 78.

Bullpup junior high runner Logan Gingerich placed second on the 1.5-mile course, 32 ticks back of winner Chase VanPevenage of Davenport who clocked 10:33.

Other finishers for the pups were Zach Willimas 3rd at 11:18, Austin Neu 4th at 13:08 and Gage Holman 5th at 14:06.

Finishers for the Bulpup girls were Emora Roberson 3rd at 12:53, Rebekah Huber 4th at 14:53, and LaurenClaassen 5th at 17:28.

Sydney Abbott of Davenport won the girls race at 12:01.
