Tekoa/Oakesdale/ Rosalia runners competed in the giant meet at Plante’s Ferry Park along the Spokane River in Spokane Valley Saturday. The boy race had 178 runners on the line at the start, and the girls race totaled 152 on the line across the park’s soccer fields.
Gracie Ledwith of LC won the girls race at 18:34 over the 5K course. Courtenay Perry topped the ‘hawk girls at 65th place with a 22:19 time. Also finishing were Kimberly Groom 136th -26:13, Melissa Groom 140th -26:32, McKenzie Demsey 143rd -27:13 and Kayler Dub 148th -28:56.
Daniel Amann of Deer Park topped the boys race at 15:56, the lone time under 16 minutes. Finishers for the ‘hawks were Dalton Jacobs 117th -19:31, Drew Howard 121st -19:42, Dillon Jacobs 133rd- 20:16, Tanner Dingman 148th -21:14, Gage Merritt 155th 21:41, Parker Perry 159th -22:09 and Cody Anderson -177th 29:38.
The team planned to travel to Waitburg Wednesday for an SE meet. St. John/Endicott runners will also be on the guest list.
