Eagles stack league wins

St. John/Endicott, Colton and Tekoa/ Oakesdale each booked two more match wins in the SE league race over Thursday and Tuesday rounds. the week.

SJE Eagles battled back for a big win over Garfield/Palouse in the league round Thursday at St. John and then came back to win in four at Pomeroy Tuesday.

Thursday on their home court, the Eagles were jolted by the GP Vikings who posted a 25-8 win in the first game. The hosts came back, for a 25-22 win in the second game with Rachel Gfeller running a string at the line and a five-game battle ensued.

The line score for the Eagles win over the last three games was 26-24 23-25 and then 15-12 in the decider.

Emily Jones had 18 kills for the Eags and Morgan Anderson put up 19 assists. Abby Glorfield hit five aces.

Cassie Thompson hit 15 kills for GP and Chandler Pfaff had 21 assists.

Tuesday at Pomeroy the Eagles pegged a four-game win, 25-18 25-18 23-25 and 25 22, with Jones rapping 14 kills and Anderson 24 assists. McKenzie Monahan had 16 kills for the Pirates.

Colton girls Tuesday booked another match win with a three-gamer over Liberty Christian on the Wildcats’ court. Colton won in three, 25-14 25-11 and 25-14, with Jenna Moser hitting nine kills and three aces. Kaden Dahmen and Raylynn Smith each had nine assists. Moser and Dahmen each hit 18-18 off the serving line.

In the Thursday round, Colton dropped Rosalia in three games, 25-5 25-21 and 25-12, with Moser hitting 19 kills and Dahmen booking 13 assists. Paige Vincent had five aces on the Spartans court. McKenzie Reddish had five digs and three blocks against the Wildcats.

Tekoa/Oakesdale Tuesday defeated the LW Tigercats in three games at LaCrosse. Cassie Mendoza put down eight kills, and Katie Renstrom had 12 assist. Alexa Lindgren hit five aces and booked five digs against the Tigercats.

For LW, Logan Harder and Brooklynn Hostetler each had six kills. Hostelter also had four digs, and Kadie Whinery put down two blocks.

The Nighthawks, who defeated Liberty Christian over three games in the Thursday round are now 4-0 in the league race.

LaCrosse/Washtucna rapped Touchet in four games Thursday at Washtucna with Harder hitting 13 kills, and Lindsey Miller lofting 11 assists. Whinery hit eight aces off the line.

Garfield/Palouse bounced back to drop Touchet in three games in the Tuesday round at Touchet with Cassie Thompson and Holly Leendertsen each putting up seven kills.

Chandler Pfaff had 14 assists for the Vikings.
