Tekoa/Oakesdale and Colton remained at the head of the pack in the SE volleyball league race after the Tuesday round. The Nighthawks kept their string rolling top 5-0 with big wins at Palouse and Pomeroy in the last two rounds.
Colton dropped the SJE Eagles Tuesday in three straight to remain in the hunt at 4-0. The loss was the first for the Eagles.
Today, the `hawks will play at Rosalia, and Colton will make the long trip to Touchet. The two league leaders are booked to collide in their league match in the Tuesday round at Oakesdale.
TEKOA/ OAKESDALE Tuesday won at Pomeroy in three straight with Cassie Mendoza putting down 10 kills and Katie Renstrom lofting 18 assists. Mendoza also had six digs for the ‘hawks and Sammi Johnson had three blocks. Savannah Ruark and Mackenzie Monahan each had seven kills for the Pirates.
Tekoa Oakesdale and the Garfield/Palouse Vikings locked up in a net battle Thrusday night in the Vikings’ Homecoming match at Palouse.
The two clubs battled to a 23-23 knot in the first game before the visitors pulled it out with Johnson at the serve line.
The Vikes roared back with a 25-19 win in the second game to put the match on edge, but the ‘hawks steadied up to win the last two, 25-12 25-17 to stay on top of the league race.
The Palouse battle featured a clash between the league’s Cassies, with Cassie Mendoza rapping 26 kills for the ‘hawks and Cassie Thompson rapping 15 for the Vikes.
Hannah Neibergs had six blocks for the Vikings, and Mendoza and Johnson had four each for the guests.
GARFIELD/ Palouse bounced back in the Tuesday round to stop the LW Tigercats in three games on the Palouse court, 25-12 25-13 and 25-16. Cassie Thompson rapped 17 kills at the Tigercats and Chandler Pfaff had 37 assists. Pfaff and Holly Leendertsen each hit three aces for the Vikings.
Logan Harder had six klls for the visitors and 22 digs.
The Vikings will be on the road today to play at Liberty Christian.
COLTON Tuesday stopped St. John/Endicott in three games at Colton to move their string to 4-0 in the league race. Line score for the match was 25-16 25-16 and 25-16.
Jenna Moser booked 11 kills for the ‘cats, and Kaden Dahmen put up 15 assists.
Emily Jones of SJE topped the kills stats with 14, and Morgan Anderson had 27 assists. Jones also had six blocks and 17 digs.
ST. JOHN/ Endicott made the trip to Colton after dropping Rosalia in the Thursday round at St. John 25-19 25-18 and 27-25. Jones hit 10 kills in the three-gamer. Mackenzie Reddish hit five for the Spartans. Anderson lofted 10 assists for the Eagles.
Rosalia Tuesday traveled all the way to Touchet where they posted a 25-14 win in the first game and then bowed to the hosts over the last three, 25-17 25-18 and 25-12.
