Former Colton quarterback Josh Straughan continues to lead Stillman College, an NCAA Division II school. Starting at quarterback as a true freshman, Straughan has directed Stillman to a 4-2 record with three consecutive league wins. Stillman has defeated Central State University, Kentucky State University, Lane College and Benedict College.
Straughan came in the first game of the season during the fourth quarter with Stillman trailing Central State 7-20. He threw two touchdowns and led Stillman to a 28-27 win. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Dayton, Ohio Classic and the Newcomer-Player of the Week for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Since then Straughan has started QB for Stillman. He has completed 102 passes for 1,015 yards and several touchdowns. In his last game against Benedict, Straughan finished 25 of 34 for 168 yards and a touchdown. His favorite target was Damian Ford who caught seven passes for 60 yards and a touchdown while Jamal Rodman caught four passes for 24 yards.
Stillman this week hosts Tuskegee University on Thursday. The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Southeast at 6:30.
