Respiratory care week

Respiratory Therapist week is Oct. 21-27. Respiratory Therapists are a vital part of our care team at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. They provide a wide range of services involving breathing treatments through airway support. They care for all ages of patients from newborns to the elderly. They are also vital members of our critical emergency teams here at WHMC. Our respiratory therapists work closely with physicians and registered nurses to assess the patient’s airway on our Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and Trauma teams.

Our current Respiratory Therapy Department has therapists from all over the Inland Northwest. Several of our therapists travel from Spokane, Lewiston, Walla Walla and/or Moses Lake to be part of our team here at WHMC. Our therapists provide respiratory care to our patients 24 hours a day and have a combined level of skill and knowledge totaling over 120 years of experience. It is the goal of the department to work diligently with physicians and nurses, to provide high quality, safe patient care.

Whitman Hospital will host a blood drive Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Walk-ins will be welcome. Appointments can be made online:
