Clay, Park Street residents question city approach to flash flood solution

City plans to prevent runoff flooding on Clay and Park streets in north Colfax were criticized Monday night when residents of the area complained they were left out of a meeting between city officials and owners of neighboring farm property. The property was the source of runoff mud that hit the Clay Street area during two cloudbursts this summer.

Mike Damery, who has operated a landscaping business on Clay, contended the meeting was a secret session and asked why Clay Street residents were not notified.
