Obituary - Elleene G. Barker

Elleene G. Barker, 93, a resident of the Tekoa Care Center for the past seven years, died last Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. She was cremated and a public service will not be conducted.

Born Oct. 25, 1919, at Broken Arrow, Okla., to Oliver and Jesse Pyland Holmes, she attended schools in Oklahoma and married Norman Knight in 1939. Elleene and her family lived in Brewster for many years after relocating from Oklahoma. A homemaker for most of her life, she worked as a waitress in Brewster for several years. She was married and divorced twice. She had been retired for health reason for many years.

She is survived by three sons Truman L. Knight of Rosiclaire, Ill .; Jim Knight of Golconda, Ill., and Gary Barker of Golconda, Ill, and two sisters, Loretta Layton and Dannie Carmack, both of Brewster.
