Eddy’s Restaurant in Colfax remained closed early this week after sustaining extensive damage last Thursday when it was struck by a car and truck involved in a collision at the intersection of Main and Thorn.
The front door of the restaurant was destroyed and the wall and windows on the north side of the restaurant were smashed.
The side of the restaurant was hit by a 1996 Mercury Villager which spun out of control after being hit by a 2007 Ford F-250 pickup truck which was towing a Jayco Eagle trailer.
The Colfax Police report said Ryan Christopherson, 18, Colfax, was attempting to cross Main Street at the Thorn Street intersection and pulled out from the east side of Main into the path of the Ford pickup which was driven by Robert Esvelt, 59, Rice.
The Villager knocked over the street sign and came to a halt with its back imbedded in the brick wall of the restaurant.
The truck and camper went onto the sidewalk and hit the front of the restaurant.
Ambulance crews responded to the scene and determined neither driver was injured.
