Wayne Miller, manager of the LaCrosse Food Bank, will distribute Thanksgiving baskets Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. He said they appreciate the donations which help make the holiday baskets available for neighbors.
Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the food bank will be open a week later, Nov. 29, from 9 to 4 to distribute the commodities.
The Thrift Shop is stocked with Christmas decorations and also with hats and gloves. It is open on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Manager Charlotte Honn said they would appreciate more volunteers to open the shop on additional Saturdays.
Maria Webster, who is in charge of the Christmas Giving Tree for the LaCrosse Outreach, announced the names will be up on the Christmas tree at the Teapot Café shortly after Thanksgiving. Residents can participate by selecting a number of a child or adult. The clothing sizes or a wish for Santa will be listed to make the shopping easier.
The LaCrosse Outreach meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Teapot Café. The public is welcome to attend.
Lois and Chuck Olmstead recently spent 10 days in Richland dog sitting. While they were there, they enjoyed a dinner out with their granddaughter, Heidi Lewis, and her husband, Jeremy.
The LaCrosse FFA Wreath Sale is underway. They are offering fresh 24-inch wreaths. A variety of bow colors and price options are availabzle.
Fresh Christmas trees and festive poinsettias will once again be available through the LaCrosse FFA. Trees will be available for pick up Dec. 3 to Dec. 7. Poinsettias will be available Nov. 26 to Dec. 7.
The LHS Class of 2016 is currently selling Tigercat t-shirts and sweatshirts. Long sleeved royal blue t-shirts are $18 for youth and $20 for adults. Orders can be placed by contacting members of LHS’s freshmen class, contacting the school or calling Stacy Aune. Orders will be placed Friday, Nov. 16.
The fifth grade boys basketball team won the AAU Battle Basketball Tournament Nov. 3 in Clarkston. Team members were Jett Nelson, Austin Jones, Ty Harder, Trey Fleming, Gunnar Aune, Blake Jones, Brayden Roberts and Brady Wells. The group defeated teams from Clarkston and Lapwai.
The Student of Character assembly for October was Nov. 7 and the attitude and effort award was given to Darcy Stamper and Shan Broeckel.
The “try” award was given to MacKenna Hardy and Jessica Guske.

Guest speaker was Keith Danielson from Hooper. He talked to the students about cowboy ethics and how they help everyone in life. He shared stories of hard-learned lessons learned along the trail.
All of the students in grades K-6 received the October SOC charm Friday morning. The fifth and sixth graders shared a quote and example of six types of courage.
